About therapy

If you are at a difficult or emotionally challenging point in your life, it can help to talk to somebody. We all experience emotional difficulties but sometimes feelings can become overwhelming and it may be hard to share them with family or friends. Therapy provides a safe, confidential setting where you can explore your feelings and the issues you face without fear of judgement or rejection.

At my practice in Central London, I work from a psychodynamic perspective, based on the principle that current problems and distress may be related to past experiences. Becoming aware of difficult memories, thoughts and feelings can deepen understanding, allowing more control and choice over our actions and responses in the present day.

Your reasons for seeking therapy might include:

• Depression
• Anxiety, panic attacks and phobias
• Lack of confidence and low self-esteem
• Self-destructive behaviours, self harming or suicidal thoughts
• Relationship difficulties
• Struggling with loss, including bereavement and divorce
• Physical illness
• Difficulty in expressing feelings
• Anger management
• Feeling lonely and isolated
• Sexual problems
• Discomfort with identity or sexuality
• Issues relating to abuse or unhappiness in childhood
• Eating disorders
• Work-related problems, including stress and redundancy
• Wanting to understand yourself better
